Het is één van de grootste verhuisoperaties binnen de UGent: sinds academiejaar 2021-2022 neemt de faculteit Politieke en Sociale Wetenschappen intrek in het Technicum, specifieker in blok 1 en 2 van het complex. Na jaren van leegstand is het Technicum klaar voor een nieuw begin.
Blok 1 en 2 maken deel uit van vijf blokken binnen het complex, ook wel gekend als de laboratoria voor de Technische Scholen van de UGent. Waar vroeger ingenieurs op zoek gingen naar de ideale samenstelling van beton, zitten nu studenten Politieke en Sociale Wetenschappen te blokken.
